on leaving bloomington
jordan and i both lack sentimental qualities. so, when it came to leaving bloomington, we tried really hard to enjoy our favorite places and people before we left. we walked around the downtown, and ate at our favorite places, including falafels. we spent time with good friends before we left. since bloomington’s such a transient town, people come and go, so it made it a little easier to say goodbye to people. some of our friends were leaving too, and others would be shortly. we made such great friends and are already planning trips to see them (i’ll be heading to new york in a few weeks to see kelsey!)
i grew up in ohio, and went to a school 20 minutes away from my hometown, so it was a big deal moving to a new place. we had to learn how to navigate a new city and learn all the good restaurants and stores. i don’t know what i would have done if i had not gotten an iphone that summer. but, eventually i got it, just in time for us to move to a new city. 🙂 i am glad to be in indianapolis, but bloomington will always be something special for us, as it was our first home together.
