Halloween this year was really fun, all thanks to this happy yellow crayon. I love the idea of homemade and unique halloween costumes, but I Halloween always sneaks up on me. Especially this year, October just went to quickly! I managed to pick up this crayon costume a couple days ago for 3 dollars! So, I guess sometimes procrastination does pay off.
I also picked up this afro for Jordan and her went as bob ross. My original idea was for Ruby to dress up as a happy cloud to go along with the theme. I stuck some leaves in my hair and went as a happy tree. Have you heard of Bob Ross, the artist?
Jordan is a big fan of bob ross, so he was more than happy to play the part.
I also grabbed this landscape painting for the photo, I thought about wearing it like a necklace, but decided wrangling Ruby will be a difficult task in itself.
The basket was a hit, by the very end it was full and heavy, but she still held on tight. She would have to sit it down for little moments though, it was the sweetest thing. Holidays are getting more exciting now that Ruby is able to participate. Even though she didn’t fully understand trick or treating, you could see that she was taking notes. By the end of the night she started to pick up on little things, like ringing the doorbell, smiling, and walking to the next house after getting candy.
This little crayon would follow her friends right up to the doorway, but would get a little scared when someone answered the door. We had to hold her hand, but then she would walk backwards going back, confused as to why we were leaving so soon.
I hope you all had a fun evening as well! What did you dress up as? Do you have any unique and creative costume ideas? Hopefully ones that are pretty easy! Maybe I will be prepared for next year if I start planning now!
