This Labor Day weekend has been full of so many good and fun things. And Jordan still has another day off tomorrow! It has been just what we needed, we’re so glad that we chose a weekend at home. The weather has been so nice (despite the crazy hot day today) so we’ve been outdoors as much as possible.
On Friday night we met up with some friends for dinner and music.
Our little dancer had the time of her life dancing to the music with her friends.
This is Ruby’s best friend, Jackson. They share a love of music and dancing. They’re both pretty rambunctious and have the same high energy levels. I love getting them together because Ruby always has the best time and runs around enough to actually tire her out.
He’s about a year older than her and just switched classes on Sunday at church. On Sunday when we asked Ruby if she was excited to go to church today and she kept saying “Jackson bye bye”. She often talks about people she knows and where they are, so I just kept saying, Jackson is at home, we might see him at church today. When we got there I realized what she meant, he was no longer in her class anymore and it was the first time she didn’t want to go to class. I was so impressed that she remembered from the following week and also so sad for her. We hung out in the lobby and ate a donut for a while and talked about how we’d see him later and then she went to class.
This girl has experienced a lot these past couple weeks with all these transitions and I know it’s been hard for her. She’s not the biggest fan of change, so I’m working extra hard to be sensitive to that and not rush her.
I thought that I got the perfect photo of them both in focus and dancing until I realized Ruby was biting Jackson’s hands. Somehow this kid tolerated her and her antics and they remain the best of friends.
I’m going to frame this one for Ruby’s room along with all of her favorite people.
I kind of love this blurry one.
Seriously can’t get enough of these two.
And this is Jackson’s rockstar of a mama, Lindsay. She’s been a dear friend of mine and it’s so nice to have kiddos close in age, and now our little babes can be friends too!
Ruby’s smile 🙂
Oh, Ruby. This one has been such a mama’s girl lately.
Thanks, friends for a fun evening!
